We were on our first holiday in Turkey , staying at an apartment our Uncle had bought in Altinkum. He had already invested in some properties out there through Mikey and Louise and he put us in touch with them, just to arrange transfers and make sure we were OK. We found that we loved Altinkum so much that we decided it would be great to invest in a holiday home there. While we were out there we saw another apartment in the same block and asked Mikey to find out how much it was. Mikey negotiated a really good price, 3 months later we were the owners of a great apartment.
Since we had already met Mikey and Louise we knew we had a reliable agent, but it was only during the purchase that we realised what a great service they offer. Mikey and Louise co-ordinated all the administration, guided us gently though the buying process and made the whole purchase run smoothly. They even helped us organize decoration, buying furniture and appliances.
Now whenever we go to Altinkum not only do we look forward to a great holiday but we also look forward to seeing our good friends Mikey and Louise. My house in the sun 2005 / 2006
To Friends, Countryman, Neighbours or to those who are just interested,
I had been looking for my house in the sun for some time, I had ‘missed the boat’ for buying in Spain, Portugal, and possibly Italy, if I wanted to buy a house which fitted In with my criteria and at a price that I could afford.
My criteria for buying was; that it must be near to the sea, near to a main resort (so I can join in the tourist fun if I wanted to) but not so far away I couldn’t get back by taxi, a mountain rear backdrop, places of interest to visit, possibly with a bit of land, and at a reasonable cost.
Last year I went on holiday with my girlfriend for the first time to the resort of Altinkum which is predominantly an English resort, it is between Izmir & Bodrum. 2 ½ hours from the airport at Bodrum & 3 hours from Izmir. On the last 2 days of our holiday, we were looking around the area for a prospective house and we quite liked the town of Akbuk which is at the moment undeveloped for tourists (the next 20 years will see change) but for now it is just a sleepy village.
Here we found a place which was ideal, 300 metres from the beach, 300 metres from the bus station & a Friday market. It had the mountain backdrop I wanted, with views over the town, so it fitted most of our criteria. We now had a problem we liked the house but how do we go about buying, who was the owner, we only had one day of our holiday left!!
Back home my next door neighbour, who as it happened had already bought a house in Altinkum, recommended I negotiate with his Estate agent Mikey at Bargain Holiday Homes in Altinkum, Mikey had done an a excellent job in looking after everything for him & as Mikey mostly works on recommendation he was sure that I would be likewise pleased with his services. Well believe me I was very pleased. In the next months mostly through the internet he arranged everything for me, tracked down the owners in Ankara, negotiated a good price, organised all paper work & refurbishment building work to bring it up to the English living standard we expect & best of all at prices we could afford.
On my next flying visit I finally met Mikey who took me around personally to organise Bank Accounts, Title Deeds and other legalities, when we visited the house the finish standards were more than we expected. Well done Mikey and his Building team.
Since my last visit Mikey had gone on to have the house inspected to enable house insurances water & electric connections, so when we next arrive everything will be finished.
We hope to go out to Turkey this year for a 6 month stay, a tryout of Turkish Living, but one thing is for sure, we will be inviting Mikey & Louise for dinner as soon as we have a dining room table.

We contacted Mikey and Louise of bargain homes in November of 2005 on the recommendation of our friends who had done business with them. We were blind about buying in Turkey and did not know altinkum. Mikey and Louise soon put us at our ease they answered all our questions and sent us photos of the apartment block although it was only a shell. We had so many things we needed checking and they were running back and forth measuring this and that, a couple of things we didn’t like and with the consent of Ali the builder we came to an agreement. They have been nothing but pleasant, helpful and very professional with everything they have done including the money side. We have not seen our apartment yet or completed everything but we expect everything to go through smoothly with there help. We decided to buy property in Turkey approx 1 year ago and we were recommended to Bargain Holiday Homes by a friend who had also bought in the Altinkum area.
From the offset we felt very comfortable dealing with Mikey and Louise who showed that they were very interested in our personal needs rather than simply selling us a property.
Since we made our purchase they have continued to provide us with excellent after sales service and we have no hesitation in recommending them to other potential buyers.

I was put in touch with Mikey and Louise through a friend of mine who had bought a property through them. When I met them I was put at ease straight away. There was no pressure on us to buy from Mikey and Louise. They couldn't do enough for my wife and I. We were taken around and shown various properties which matched our budget. After two or three days we decided to buy a villa in Altinkum We were grateful for their help and advice. I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in buying property in Turkey. I decided I wanted a home in the sun about 4 years ago, but only when I came to Altinkum with my cousin in 2006 did it become reality.We looked at a wide range of properties and with the end of our holiday in sight we still hadn’t found the right place for us, or an agent we were really happy to trust.
We were then introduced to Mikey and Louise at Bargain Holiday homes ,we fell in love with the first property they showed us and before we came home we had decided to buy it. I can honestly say Louise and Mikey have been fantastic, the service they have provided has been second to none, from the smallest details like where to buy light bulb's, to the opening of bank accounts etc.
I would happily recommend Bargain Holiday Homes to anyone and already have including my boyfriend Ed, who has now brought a property from them also.Their after sales service is something i have never experienced before, nothing is too much for them, I wish for them every success and know they will acheive it with their hard work, I who now like to think of as freind's.

I’d always wanted to buy a property abroad, but never took the plunge because I was worried about the safety of an investment outside of the UK. My girlfriend Sharon and her cousin, who were braver than me, went ahead and bought a holiday apartment in Altinkum through Bargain Holiday Homes. I had my reservations, but the purchase was trouble free and as soon as we could Sharon and I went out to turkey for a holiday in her new apartment. There I met Mikey and Louise and was instantly taken with their friendly and relaxed attitudes. The continued support and guidance offered to Sharon was way beyond what I would have expected. I knew this was my opportunity to fulfill my ambition to own a property in the sun. I am now the proud owner of a lovely 2 bedroom apartment in altinkum. I wanted an income from my investment, so within weeks Mikey and Louise had found me my first tenant, this is still ongoing.
I think of mikey and Louise as friends now but this does not influence my unreserved recommendation to anyone thinking of buying a property in Turkey to contact Mikey and Louise or better still visit them as I did.

Mikey and Louise-stand out from the rest of the estate agents in Altinkum in our opinion, offering a professional and friendly service. We were always at ease and never pressured to buy a property when being shown around the properties, Mikey had selected for us to view.
Mikey and Louise sorted out a solicitor who also translated the contracts into English. Mikey also helped us with opening a bank account, tax no, building insurance and even taken us around furniture shops and everything was delivered and built up on the same day.
We purchased a 3 bedroom duplex and a 2 bedroom apartment.
Mikey and Louise and their son Josh have become very good friends. We would highly recommend them.
